December 15 – What?

The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but deliverance and victory are of the Lord. Proverbs 21:31 AMP

I do love poetry. And neat sayings grab my attention and often spike my imagination. But sometimes I read statements like this Proverb and go, “What?”

I live in a time where horses are not used for fighting, maybe in jest, but not reflective of the “olden days.” So really getting the marching orders from these words requires a tad more marinating,.

And then I read this in the message: Do your best, prepare for the worst—then trust God to bring victory. Forgive me, but this speaks loud and clear to me…today!

There’s so much to worry about that has nothing to do with what I can do. On the other hand, there’s so much I can be about that requires nothing more on God’s part. But in my humanness, I lean toward looking over His shoulder and bothering myself about business that’s not mine to tend.

Victory will come from above. But in the meantime, let’s be found doing and preparing!
