Let your eyes look straight ahead, and your eyelids look right before you. Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established. Do not turn to the right or the left; remove your foot from evil.
Proverbs 4:24-27
I’ve used several things to fix the problem. Mozart, essential oils, complete quiet, protein for breakfast, you name it. And I bet you’ve tried things like that, too. But the problem keeps popping up, regardless.
Focus. Teaching and training our children to focus (and not to mention mom and dad) can be incredibly challenging. Whether your family goes to a school or learns from home, mastering the ability to focus is needed across the board.
With technology of all sorts, weather changes, sibling or peer antics, even “ants in the pants,” distractions reign at an all-time high in this present world. The accepted response is to run around like a chicken with it’s head cut off, because “blinders” seem so outdated and out of style.
But here the wisdom of God steps in. The above verses pound the message home: Let your eyes look straight ahead, don’t look to the right or left, consider the path ahead, even, keep your “blinders” on! As we focus on God, His Word, His everlasting promises, our feet will be removed from evil. Our eye, the lamp of our body (Jesus explains this in Matthew 6 and Luke 11) must be single, intensely aimed at the prize of not only eternal life, but victory here on earth. The “eyes” have it!
